CTT Announcement - 8th JuneIt is anticipated that on or around 4th July there will be an update from the Government on further relaxation of restrictions affecting sporting events. It may then be possible in England for there to be a restart of club events from 6th July and open events from 18th July. Whether events take place will also be at the discretion of CTT districts, promoting clubs and event organisers. The restart of events in Wales and Scotland will be a matter for the devolved administrations. The VTTA National Executive Committee has re-arranged the 10 mile championship for Saturday 12th September and the 15 mile championship for Sunday 20th September. The 25 mile championship was scheduled for 11th July and we will have to await a decision as to whether this may be re-arranged.This is hopeful news for members looking forward to racing again, but in safe conditions, and with the recognition that dates are still contingent on how the situation with the virus unfolds in the coming weeks.Andrew SimpkinsVTTA National Chairman ... VTTA Virtual Time Trial Series - Event Number 7Saturday 30 May 2020; 10amThe seventh of the weekly 10 mile time trials took place this Saturday where we are inviting VTTA members to enter the Newbury 10-and-a-bit mile time trial. With warm and summery conditions across the country, we weren't surprised to see numbers down a little this week. However, please do keep telling your VTTA members friends about the event. This week, it was once again the chance of 86-year-old Masters World Champion Derek Hodgins to take the win. Derek crossed the line with a plus of +9:23. Second place went to TT regular Jon Stroud with a plus of +6:48 with Tim Davies taking the bronze in +6:43.Amongst the ladies, it was regular rider Ros Young who took the honors with +4:36 with Jan Farmer taking the silver with -1:27.Full results can be found on Zwiftpower (www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=829779) and the official VTTA results are attached to this post.We are running a standards league so the best standards achieved in the event will be noted over the course of the year. Derek Hodgins is now leading the men and the overall with a plus of +11:15 and Deb Lumb is leading the ladies with a plus of +5:47. Full league results are here: www.zwiftpower.com/league.php?id=324A few points to note:- Please make sure your name on Zwiftpower is exactly the same as your name on the VTTA database. Although we've got most of the names by manually finding them, we may well have missed some.- Do not add anything after your name on Zwiftpower (teamnames can be left in brackets, but they must be in brackets)- THIS IS JUST A BIT OF FUN. People are on different power sources, some of which are of varying accuracies. If you notice your result is seriously "out of kilter" from where it should be, then consider calibrating your equipment. Also, bear in mind as you ride more on Zwift you get to ride better bikes and wheels. Also, Zwift physics don't quite yet work like real physics, so some of the pluses may not be as they would be in real life.See you next week and well done to all those who took part! ...
