{"id":15,"date":"2017-08-31T13:16:08","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T12:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vttaea.s802.sureserver.com\/home\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2019-03-19T13:09:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T13:09:52","slug":"competitions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vttaea.co.uk\/home\/competitions\/","title":{"rendered":"Competitions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There are several championships organised by the East Anglian group and also Nationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Best All Rounder (BAR) Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Best All Rounder Competition is a season long competition in which competitors have to complete events at 25 miles, 50 miles 100 miles and 12 hours. Riders compare their actual performance against standard performance. The \u201cplus\u201d for the 12 hour is converted, using a conversion factor, into an equivalent 200 mile plus. The resulting plusses are then weighted to ensure a balance between the various events. The Champion is the rider with the highest aggregate weighted plusses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Three Distance Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Three Distance Competition runs throughout each season and competitors must complete rides at 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 miles. After each event a rider will compare his\/her actual performance against \u201cStandard\u201d. The resulting plusses are weighted to ensure a balance between the various events. The Champion is the rider with the highest aggregate weighted plusses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Short Distance Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Short Distance Competition runs throughout each season and competitors must complete two rides at 10 miles and two rides at 25 miles. After each event a rider will compare his\/her actual performance against \u201cStandard\u201d. The resulting plusses are weighted to ensure a balance between the various events. The Champion is the rider with the highest aggregate weighted plusses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EACH OF THE ABOVE HAS A <strong>GROUP<\/strong> EQUIVALENT WITH SEPARATE COMPETITIONS FOR MEN AND WOMEN<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to enter any of these competitions you should complete the \u201c<strong>National Short Distance, 3 Distance and BAR Competition Claim Form\u201d <\/strong>which can be downloaded from this web site or from the National VTTA website. The completed form and copies of the relevant result sheets with your name highlighted should be sent to the Group Recorder by 18th October. The relevant calculations will then be performed and where appropriate for National Competitions the forms forwarded to the National Recorder. (Note that not all sections need to be completed if you are only applying for certain competitions)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IN ADDITION, THE <strong>GROUP<\/strong> HAS A SEASON-LONG 10 MILE TIME TRIAL COMPETITION DETERMINED BY POINTS GAINED IN NOMINATED 10 MILE EVENTS, WITH SEPARATE MEN\u2019S AND WOMEN\u2019S CHAMPIONSHIPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no entry fee for these competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous years&#8217; results can be found in the Group Recorder&#8217;s annual report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vttaea.co.uk\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Group-Recorders-report-2018.pdf\">Group Recorder&#8217;s report 2018<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are several championships organised by the East Anglian group and also Nationally.
